“A
small step to a fairer world”
MondoChallenge sends volunteers (early retired, career break, post-university, gap year) to help with development programmes in Africa, Asia and South America. All of our programmes are community based, meaning that you live and work alongside local people.
MondoChallenge welcomes recent scrutiny in the press on the value of volunteer programmes abroad.
Like VSO, we urge prospective volunteers to examine the sustainability and cost of projects before getting involved.

The project length is anything from 1 month to 1 year with flexible departure dates. The average volunteer age is 37 and 50% are non-UK based. Volunteering opportunities include teaching (schools, orphanages), business development, (HIV/AIDS, agriculture, eco-tourism) and healthcare (clinics).
So far we have sent 1000 volunteers to ten different countries and in 2008 plan to send a further 200. We may not be able to promise a hot shower but we can definitely promise an unforgettable and truly rewarding experience!
MondoChallenge is the only volunteering organisation of its kind to sponsor the Ethical Volunteering Guide, encouraging good practice and maximum benefits for volunteers and host communities.
Are you ready for the challenge?
